   Engineering Vibration Analysis: Worked Problems 1 / Svetlitsky V. A. ; Translator Merzon G. I., Chechin V. A. - Berlin : Springer, 2004. - 316 p. : ill. - (Foundations of Engineering Mechanics). - ISBN 3-540-20658-2.

The two-volume work "Engineering Vibration Analysis" follows а rigorous problem-oriented approach. It thus represents опе of those valuable pools of worked examples that helps graduate students and practising engineers to apply formal theory to advanced engineering problems. In the first part of each volume, advanced problems of vibration theory are posed and mathematically formulated. The second part deals with the detailed solution of these problems. Mathematical and theoretical backgrounds are provided in the appendices.
The first volume is devoted to systems with а single degree of freedom and to systems with а finite number of degrees of freedom. In particular, problems are formulated associated with the determination of frequencies and the forms of vibrations, the study of forced vibrations, and analysis of both stable and unstable vibrations. Other topics include nonlinear vibrations, vibration stability, probabilistic characteristics in the case of random forces, parametric vibrations, statistical dynamics of mechanical systems, and dynamic stability.
