This book grew out of my article entitled ―The Joy and Sorrow of Creativity‖. I have written it for those who have creative experience, for those who have already partaken of its sweetness and bitterness. It is for people who devote their life to creative work and long for creativity. It is a warning: creativity is not always manna from heaven, it often becomes a punishment. Modern psychology describes creativity as a purely positive phenomenon, which it is certainly not. This book sums up my research of both positive and negative aspects of creativity. I hope it will help psychologists, philosophers, teachers and psychotherapists get a clearer picture of creative states of consciousness.
