Nature Communications

We are pleased to announce the launch of Nature Communications, a multidisciplinary, online-only journal with an open-access option. Eleven papers were published on launch, from fields across the natural sciences including evolutionary biology, materials science, nanotechnology, genetics, and cancer research. With more scheduled for publication in the coming weeks, these first articles showcase Nature Communications' functionality including a figure preview in article abstracts and an archive browsable by subject, date or article type. Papers published in Nature Communications also benefit from chemical annotation which links important compounds to external resources of more information. As part of Nature Communications' launch, all of the journal's content will be freely available until September 30, 2010, after which time subscribed access content will be put behind a paywall.
